Hawkeye waws a Captain, and I used to know what his first name was!
I was never a great fan of the show, probably because I read all the books. My sister and I read one of them aloud to each other on a trip from home, in Guilford, CT to our Granny's house in Cazenovia, NY one summer. The books were MUCH better than the movie or the show.
Riquel-have you read the books?
No, I hadn't...to be honest I didn't know there were books plural, I knew the movie was based off a book, but I hadn't read it...guess I need to make a trip to the library this weekend...do you know/remember who the author is?
I didn't know there were books! I prefer the series to the movie. It was good though.
Sorry, Riquel--the information about the author has disappeared into the same black hole as Hawkeye's first name!! I'm surprised, because as I get older, usually it's the old stuff I CAN remember. I just can't remember why I came upstairs!

Thought I would check this out, not real good at MASH trivia but knew the song and know he was Captain Benjamin Franklin Pierce. Looks like riquel jumped right on that one.
