The fastest animal on land is easy, the cheetah, at 46 mph. Since the question is sneaky and didn't menion "land" specifically, I'm going to CYA and also list the fastest animal on earth, the peregrine falcon, clocked at speeds faster than 217 mph. Reportedly it can dive at speeds over 200 mph. This was on Animal Planet the other day (thank goodness for TV).
Land animal would be the cheetah, I thought it could go faster than 46 mph, but I could be wrong, but I was thinking something like 65-70, I don't know nothing about the falcon ml mentioned.

Riquel, you are right, think I had heard before the cheetah could go over 60 mph. But the show I saw last week stated 46+ mph for the poor ol' cheetah. They would flash the speed on the screen for emphasis. The falcon mentioned above could "dive bomb" at over 200 mph. That's a bit fast!
But since the question asked fastest animal on earth (rather than land), figured it was "tricky". At least for me :)
I too was thinking cheetah, but I though I'd heard they could go up to 90mph for a short distance! ?? I hadn't thought of the falcon though. I'll bet your right ML!
on land the cheetah, in the air the falcon, but what about in water? which animal is fastest there?
sorry about that. missed question 4. sorry again. last friday was a ruff day. my father in law died the night before (thursday night).
